Privacy policy
Effective September 16, 2026
The short version
- RollKeep analyzes your photos on your iPhone. Your photos are never uploaded to us or anyone else.
- We don't collect personal data. There's no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
- Purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details.
- If you email us, we use your message only to reply.
This policy explains how the RollKeep iPhone app ("RollKeep", "we", "us") handles information, and covers this website, rollkeepapp.com.
What RollKeep accesses on your iPhone
Your photo library
With your permission, RollKeep reads your photo library to find similar shots, blurry photos, screenshots, screen recordings, Live Photos and large videos, and to show how much space they take up. Photos are analyzed with Apple's on-device Vision framework. The analysis happens entirely on your iPhone.
RollKeep only changes your library when you ask it to: deleting items you selected (always confirmed again in Apple's own dialog), saving a compressed copy of a video, or saving a still copy of a Live Photo. Deleted items go to Photos' Recently Deleted album, where you can recover them for 30 days.
You can change or remove photo access at any time in Settings › Apps › RollKeep › Photos.
Notifications
If you turn on the monthly reminder, or a scan finishes while RollKeep is in the background, RollKeep schedules notifications on your iPhone. They're created locally; we don't run a notification server.
What's stored on your device
To work quickly and remember your progress, RollKeep keeps the following only on your iPhone:
- A scan cache: file sizes and analysis results such as sharpness and similarity scores. It doesn't contain copies of your photos.
- Your settings, such as similarity sensitivity and the albums you protect.
- Swipe mode progress, including photos you bookmarked for later.
- Your cleanup history: your weekly streak and total space cleaned up.
- For the On This Day widget, a few small thumbnails of past photos, stored in a container shared only with RollKeep's own widget.
None of this is sent to us. Deleting the app removes it. If your iPhone backups are on, it may be included in your iCloud or computer backup, which Apple or your computer handles.
Information we collect
We don't collect personal data through the app. RollKeep has no account system and includes no third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking software, and we don't sell or share personal information.
If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may provide us with aggregated usage statistics and crash reports. These are prepared by Apple, don't identify you, and never include your photos.
Services provided by Apple
Purchases and subscriptions
RollKeep Plus purchases, free trials, renewals, cancellations and refunds are processed by Apple through the App Store. We don't receive your name, email address or payment details. RollKeep checks what you've purchased using Apple's StoreKit on your device.
iCloud Photos
If your library uses iCloud Photos, your iPhone may download a photo or video from iCloud when RollKeep needs the full file, for example when you compress a video stored in iCloud, or when you choose to scan on Wi-Fi. Apple handles those downloads under Apple's privacy policy; nothing passes through us.
When you contact us
If you email support, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to help you, and delete it once it's no longer needed to resolve your request. Please don't send photos unless they're needed to explain a problem.
This website
rollkeepapp.com uses no cookies, analytics or advertising, and loads its fonts and images from its own server. Like any website, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for a limited time to keep the site secure and running.
Children
RollKeep isn't directed at children under 13, and it doesn't collect personal data from anyone, including children.
Your choices and rights
Because we don't hold personal data from the app, there's nothing for us to access, correct or delete on your behalf. You stay in control on your device: turn off photo access, turn off notifications, or delete the app to remove everything it stored. To have a support conversation deleted, email us.
Changes to this policy
If we change how RollKeep handles information, we'll update this page and the effective date above. If a change is significant, we'll also mention it in the app's update notes.
